The process and content of policy analysis involve policy agenda setting, definition of problem, goal setting, program planning, outcome forecasting, selection, execution and monitoring of scheme, evaluation and summarizing, adjustment and changes and so forth. Policy analysis thesis refers to a study of formulation, execution, evaluation, monitoring, end, changes and content of a (or a type of) policy, or an aspect, a part or overall process of the (type of) policy, or comparison between different countries or regions in the policy.
Composition
Main body should consist of five parts: introduction, theoretical basis, policy description, policy analysis, and conclusions.
1. Introduction: includes the basis for the choice of topic (research background and significance); literature review (comment on domestic and overseas studies); research content and approach; research methods and technical roadmap.
2. Theoretical basis: expounds on the theoretical basis of this policy study, sets up and verifies the analytical framework, evaluation model, evaluation index system, and comparison dimensions.
3.Policy description: describes the background, content and evolution, related process andpolicy studied.
4. Policy analysis: conducts an in-depth analysis, a comprehensive evaluation and a comparative study of the policy studied based on the analytical framework or evaluation model and evaluation index system as well as comparison dimensions.
5. Conclusions: summarizes the findings of policy analysis or makes conclusions, and expands, popularizes or theoretically extracts and sublimates research findings.
Other requirements
1. For policy analysis thesis, text format such as font and word size should be subject to the standards for professional master’s thesisof each school.
2. In principle, main body of a policy analysis thesis should be not less than 20,000 words.
