I. Course Description
Political science aims to investigate systematic theories and knowledge on construction and maintenance of public orders, as well as creation and distribution of public values.
Political science mainly includes: formation of interest relationship and political relations, power & right & authority, theory of state, constitutional theory, regime theory, theory & system of democracy, political participation, parties & party systems, political communities, public opinion poll, political functions of mass media, campaign & election, government, legislative bodies, administrative bodies, judiciary authorities, political culture, political socialization, political development, international politics, and international relations.
Teaching activities of this curriculum are primarily divided into three parts: systematic lecturing on basic theories by teachers; the typical case study; interactive conversation between students and teachers.
Through learning, students can correctly deal with relations between an individual and the society, relations between the society and a nation, as well as relations between the nations, and comprehend fundamental significance for the survival and progress of mankind. By mastering principles and methods to construct and maintain the public order, and to create and distribute public values, they can improve their abilities to analyze and solve political issues alone. In this way, a foundation is laid for them to further learn other course of the public administration specialty better, and also preferably practice public administration after graduation.
According to relevant requirements, students should understand the importance of political science theories and knowledge to the development of human society, conscientiously study related classics and historical documents, comprehend fundamental theories and propositions by closely combining the practice, take active part in classroom discussion, and apply the theories and knowledge learned to analyze and solve practical problems, from perspectives of how to realize the lasting political stability and construct an ideal society.

An executive member of the Chinese Public Administration Society (CPAS); an executive member of Institute of China Supervision; an executive member of China Society of Administrative Reform (CSOAR); Vice President of China County-level Public Administration Research Institute; and an assessor for the discipline group of the National Social Science Fund of China. In addition, he has been praised as a young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions in Zhejiang province.
