I. Course Description
As the whole process of public administration or public service in fact, public policy serves for policy formulation, policy decision-making, policy execution and policy result evaluation at each stage. The purpose of setting up the public policy analysis course is that students can understand what public policy is, why analysis is performed and master both methodology and approaches of policy analysis and decision-making. Public policy involves extensive fields, such as public transport, public security, social welfare, public health, community services, property management, rights and interests of owners in residential compounds, and environment and water resources protection, which all fall into the category of public policy and are also closely associated with benefits of the public. Through learning, students are able to master public policy accurately and clearly according to policy analysis methodology and approaches, so that they can serve for policy analysis and decision-making better under the effective guidance of policy analysis methodology in working practice.
II. Faculty
WANG Shizong
Dean, professor, doctoral supervisor of the Department of Government, School of Public Affairs Zhejiang University, and Doctor of Management. He is mainly engaged in investigating governance theories, governance applicability in China, and local governance & local government. In addition, he used to preside over major subjects calling for bids based on the National Social Science Fund of China and the Social Science Planning of Zhejiang Province, etc..
XU Li
PhD in Education of College of Education Zhejiang University; associate professor in the Department of Government, School of Public Affairs Zhejiang University. His major research fields cover public policy analysis, pressure management and management negotiation, etc..(2015)。
ZHANG Haifeng
Associate professor in the School of Public Affairs Zhejiang University; and also the Deputy Dean of the Department of Social Security and Risk Management of Zhejiang University. He has been selected as the Young Truth Seeking Scholar of Zhejiang University (2012), the Zhejiang Young Scholar of Social Science Action Planning of Zhejiang (2013) and the Level-3 Cultivated Personnel of Zhejiang 151 Talent Project (2015) successively.
